Wood Care

We love wood. Ok, most people probably do, but our love runs deep into the grain. Our favorite cutting surface, our most dependable spoon, + the backdrop for our charcuterie, we can’t imagine our kitchen without wood. (Which is why we oil it regularly.)

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY WOOD PIECES?

Hand wash only. Dry right away to keep wood from cracking. Our Essential Waffle Dish Towel is super absorbent and will make this quick. Oil regularly with food-grade oil, like mineral oil. (In a pinch, we use olive oil.) If your cutting board looks fuzzy due to risen wood grains, sand it gently with a scouring pad to smooth things out.

IS THERE VARIATION?

Variation in wood grain and shape are natural, as items are mostly handmade.

WHAT ARE THE NO-NO'S FOR WOOD CARE?

Don’t leave near fire or hot metals - the wood can burn (but you knew that already).
