Shipping

For ground shipping within the continental United States, we charge a minimum flat shipping fee of $8.00 for orders below $80.00 and a shipping fee of 10% of the order value for orders up to $199. Orders of $199+ ship free. Some exclusions apply. Please note these shipping rules and rates are based on the original, non-discounted product prices and cart totals. For larger-sized items and furniture, we charge our surcharge shipping which can range from $25 - $350, based on the particular item and total weight of the package. Surcharge shipping fees will be indicated on the item's product page and on the checkout screen.

Listen, we get it - big box stores + big online retailers that have taken over the world have made us come to expect free, quick shipping on everything. Unfortunately, for a small business like ours, that’s just not financially possible. Plus, the kind of business practices that make free, quick shipping possible are arguably not great for people or the world. So, we charge the minimum amount that allows us to stay operational. Please email us at care@hawkinsnewyork.com if you have questions about our shipping rates.

If you’re looking to ship to Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. territories, or internationally, send an email to care@hawkinsnewyork.com with your name, shipping address, phone number, and the product names and quantities you're interested in. We'll respond in a timely manner with a custom shipping quote for you. Just a note: our shipping quotes do not include duties and taxes - just the cost of shipping the order. Recipient is responsible for paying duties and taxes for the package.

When your order ships, you’ll get an email from us right away. Open the email, and your tracking information will be right there. Magic. If you don’t see an order confirmation and/or shipping confirmation, check your spam. If it’s still nowhere to be found, please reach out to our Care team at care@hawkinsnewyork.com.

Orders will be shipped from our facility within 3 to 5 business days from the time the order is placed. You should receive the order within 7 business days from the time of shipping, depending on your location.

Yes, we can ship to P.O. boxes. We use both Fedex and USPS, so if you have a preference, please reach out to us and let us know.

It’s not something we typically offer, but we can put together a custom quote for you. Expedited and overnight rates vary drastically, based on the products ordered and geographic location of the customer. Please reach out to care@hawkinsnewyork.com and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.

Please note, expedited shipping is not available during the Holiday season, starting on November 14th through the end of the year.

Product

We partner with producers, family-owned manufacturers, and collectives all over the world - primarily in Portugal, India, Morocco, and China - to bring our line to market, and to you. We source our production partners based on the history of that particular craft in that particular place. We also curate a thoughtful selection of the best stuff we find made by other people.

The majority of the products you see on this site are designed by Hawkins New York. However, our design philosophy is that no house should be furnished with just one brand (not even ours!), so we’ve always offered a curated collection from our favorite makers and designers alongside our own line. We think you’ll love ‘em.

Our linens are made from high-quality flax, sourced in Belgium. They’re then finished in Portugal, where they’re woven, stitched, dyed, and stonewashed for that signature Hawkins softness - which we love to remind you only gets softer over time.

We love linen for bedding because it’s breathable and soft, keeping you both cool in the summer and warm in the winter. We offer our Simple Bedding Collection in 18 of our favorite colors, so you can mix and match, changing it up with the seasons or your moods. It’s all generously sized, weighty linen - perfect for draping and creating an unfussy, elegant bed.

Hey look! We’ve got a Product Care page just for that. You’ll find info on how to care for your bedding and our other products there. But there’s not much to it: it’s all machine-washable, gets softer and stronger with each wash, and just needs to be taken care of with a mild detergent (no fabric softeners, no bleach). Line dry for a crisp feel, tumble dry for a soft touch. Don’t use hot water in the wash, or high temps in the dryer.

We want your new bed set-up to be an absolute dream, so we offer a one year warranty on our bedding. This covers manufacturing flaws (like stitching or tearing) not caused by improper use or care + physical flaws in the construction of the item. This does not cover minor cosmetic flaws, personal preferences regarding material + color, or physical damages caused by a human or pet. If you’re unsure about whether something is covered in this warranty, just drop us a line.

Yep! In addition to the general Product Care page, every individual product page has care details that’ll let you know specifically when an item is dishwasher friendly.

For Simple Linen Collection (that's our napkins, bedding, pillows), we recommend purchasing a Simple Linen Swatch to reference color and how it wears. For our Simple Waffle Towels, we recommend purchasing our smallest towel offering: the Simple Waffle Washcloth. For wallpaper swatches, please visit our Wallpaper Collection.

Orders & Returns

Order changes or cancellations can only be made within 12 hours of placing an order. Please send a note with your order number to our Care team at care@hawkinsnewyork.com.

You’re welcome to return your order for a full refund or exchange your order for something else within 30 days of the original purchase date, provided the items are unused, in the condition you received them and in the original box and/or packaging. If your returned items arrive back to us broken or damaged in any way, we cannot accept the return. A restocking fee of 10% will be charged on rugs larger than 2'x3'. All items marked “Final Sale” are not eligible for return or exchange.

HOLIDAY RETURNS: All orders placed between 11/17 - 12/24 are given an extended return period. You can return or exchange items until January 15th, 2025. Please note, all trade orders are still subject to our standard 30 day return policy during this time.

FINAL SALE ITEMS INCLUDE: ALL office supplies, crafting kits, books, paper goods, pantry items, swatches, games, gift cards, seasonal decor (i.e. Holiday items), candles, apothecary products + items from our sale section.

All orders from Hawkins New York are insured from warehouse departure, through transit, up until delivery. Please note, once the carrier successfully delivers to your specified address, we are not responsible for any stolen goods.

Provided your order falls within the parameters of our return policy, please visit our return portal to start the returns process here within 30 days from the original purchase date. A $10 fee will be deducted from your return to cover the return shipping cost. Surcharge return shipping rates apply for some items. At this time, we are unable to refund original shipping costs. If your items arrived to you damaged or broken, please do not begin the returns process online. Instead, contact us directly for a resolution at care@hawkinsnewyork.com

Depends! Where do you live? In accordance with federal tax laws, we collect sales tax on all purchases in any state that requires us to do so. Rates vary based on shipping address. If the order is taxable, shipping charges are also taxable.

Upon receiving your order, please inspect the items and let us know within 48hrs of receipt of any issues or damages. We’ll gladly replace damaged or broken items right away.

We’d love to include a note on your behalf! You can find directions to add a little personalization at checkout. Unfortunately, we don’t offer gift wrapping at this time.

If the wallpaper is unopened, in original packaging, and within the 30-day window, you’re good to make the return. Please reach out to care@hawkinsnewyork.com to start the process. Unfortunately, wallpaper swatches are non-refundable.

Our return policy is not applicable to: books, games, pantry items, office + paper goods, craft kits, linen + wallpaper swatches, seasonal decor (i.e. Holiday items), candles, apothecary items, + anything marked “Final Sale”.
