Metal Plating Care
Metal plated goods will never go out of style. They look great in your kitchen + even better on your bar cart, which is why our Simple Collection is peppered with metal plated accessories. Whatever you do, never — and we mean never — put your metal plated items in the dishwasher.
WHAT'S THE BEST WAY TO CARE FOR MY BRASS PLATED GOODS?
For accessories, wipe clean with a damp cloth. For barware, hand wash. Do not put in the dishwasher or soak in water + soap. Seriously, don’t do it. Dry thoroughly after cleaning with a cloth to prevent spots. Be particularly gentle when cleaning these items, as you don’t want to remove the coating or create scratches.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I POLISH?
Polishing occasionally is more than sufficient + recommended to restore the shine of your metal plated items. In between polishes, dust regularly to prevent accumulation of dirt + follow the gentle cleaning process recommended here as needed.
WHERE SHOULD I STORE MY METAL PLATED ITEMS?
Always keep metal plated pieces out of direct sunlight + high humidity, since these conditions can accelerate tarnishing. As a rule of thumb: store anything metal plated in a cool, dry place without any major temperature fluctuations.
